Weekend Recap!

Written by:

Hey everyone, happy Wednesday! I’m still buzzing from this past weekend and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. It was one of those weekends that leaves you feeling refreshed and ready for the upcoming week! Friday kicked off with a girls night that hit all the right notes, and Saturday was this perfect mix of good food, movement, and hanging with my cats. I snapped a few pictures along the way, so get ready for the recap. I hope it gives you some midweek inspo!

Friday: Girls’ Night Craft Party

Friday evening, I headed to a girls’ night and it was exactly what I needed. Not a lot is better than unwinding with your friends after a long work week! We had a craft night theme that included sewing, hanging out, and me? I decided to tackle my nails. It can sometimes be a challenge to find the time to do them, so this was the perfect opportunity! I did my natural nails with builder gel to keep them strong, then painted them this super soft light pink, and added chrome. They’re shiny, simple, and I can’t stop looking at them. The other girls were either stitching up fun stuff or laughing over random stories.

We fueled up with build your own pizzas and went with two main combinations. Chicken, bacon, alfredo, sausage, and artichoke pizza, and then a classic pepperoni pizza! They were so delicious and paired perfectly with fruit and chips with dip. The drinks, though? Total highlight. We had these Poppi sodas and I was really impressed with how good they were! Their cans are adorable and there are some really yummy sounding flavors. I got a picture because they were too cute not to. It was laid back, crafty, and the best way to slide into the weekend.

Saturday Morning: Cat-Shaped Breakfast

Saturday started slow and tasty. I wanted something scrumptious for breakfast and found myself with extra time to add some flair. The combination I decided on was bacon, eggs, toast, and grapes. The bread was a Costco rosemary parmesan cheese loaf and I’m obsessed with it. I check for this bread every Costco run, seriously! However, the showstopper for Saturday’s breakfast was the egg. I cracked it in a cat shaped cookie cutter (because why not?), and it was almost too cute to eat. Almost. The egg fried up, paired with the delicious toast, and crispy bacon made it a 10/10 morning plate! I’m proud of that one.

Saturday Afternoon: Errands And A Walk

After breakfast, I got a few things done around the house, then I got ready and hit Hoppy Lobby to scope out fabric. I left with a couple yards of a neutral cotton fabric to practice with. When I was younger, my mom taught me how to sew. However, it has been a long time since I have sewn and I’m pretty sure I only really made doll clothes! So keep an eye out for my attempts and progress. Lunch was Chick-fil-A because it’s a classic. I got a grilled chicken cool wrap that hit the spot and tried out their new dragon fruit frosted lemonade. It was light and refreshing, perfect for Spring! Then, I went for a walk in my current favorite spot. The air was fresh, the sun was warm on my skin, and it felt like Spring was actually here. I love getting a little bit of movement in, whenever I can, and a quick walk always makes me feel good.

Saturday Night: Journaling And Formula 1

Back home, I took Dennis and Yuki outside and they were living their best lives! They were rolling on the cement, sniffing everything, and being adorable little weirdos.

I grabbed a picnic blanket and plopped down with my journal and notebooks. One of my favorite hobbies is writing in my notebooks. I love making to-do lists and planning every little detail. I jotted down a few random thoughts, weekend highlights, and some plans for April. It was the perfect, cozy wind down with me just doing my thing. Dennis curled up under the blanket to provide support and Yuki kept an eye on the chirping birds. Classic night with the boys!

Later, I went inside and threw on Formula 1 qualifying. I managed to keep my heart rate low by multitasking and getting ready for bed. #justiceforcarlos

Weekend Wrap-Up

That was my pretty balanced weekend! Girls’ night crafts and Poppi, cat egg breakfast, a little wandering, and some chill time with Dennis and Yuki. Nothing huge, just a bunch of small wins that made it feel full. I’m already plotting more! Possibly quarterly girls’ nights or cat shaped food experiments? I guess you’ll just have to stick around and find out. What was your weekend highlight? Drop it below!
