Disney Trip Packing Tips!

Written by:

Good evening! I hope you all are having a wonderful Spring so far! I’m currently reminiscing about my recent Disneyland trip earlier this May and I realized there were definitely things that made this trip go super smooth. Today, I’m spilling my packing list secrets so you can take some tips and crush your next trip. My suitcase was appropriately stuffed and my camera roll is now stocked with great memories! Keep reading for all the info and links at the bottom!

First, let’s talk that Disney crewneck. She’s an icon. Truly. California nights can get chilly, and this gem kept me snug while screaming on Space Mountain! I originally packed it in my suitcase but quickly decided to pull it out and wear it to the airport. It got me in the Disney spirit in just the right way! I paired my crewneck with some tried and true tennis shoes. Trust me on this one! I’m all about a cute new pair of shoes for a trip, but comfort comes first when you’re walking for 12+ hours. I recommend testing a pair of shoes you’re considering bringing a week or so before the trip (if you have the time). Go on a walk in them and ensure you won’t be kicking yourself later! In my backpack, I packed a journal, headphones, chargers, and a spare outfit. You never know if your luggage will get lost or if you’ll have a bathroom emergency mid-flight.

Speaking of flights, another tip is noise cancelling headphones! Travel days can be exhausting and I love tuning out the outside noise and tuning in to a good audio book. My Beats headphones were the MVP and allowed me to enjoy my book even with the kid behind me practicing for the scream choir.

In preparation for this trip, I treated myself to some Madewell shorts. They were pricy but a good investment for the perfect pair of denim shorts! I decided to wear them for my day in California Adventure along with some cute sandals, making sure they were secure and comfortable. Can we also take a moment for the ADORABLE Mickey-shaped rattan bag?! This was such a staple in pictures and I got so many compliments on it. I added little red bows to the ears which ended up being the cherry on top! It carried all the essentials like my sunglasses, aquaphor, ponchos (for wet rides), a camera, and an energy drink to keep spirits high. I absolutely recommend this spacious and durable bag. Whether you’re leaving on a Disney cruise (I’m jealous) or you’re simply a Disney fan that loves to accessorize! I also found some Mickey ears from Amazon which saved me some money on park merch. They held up great and looked perfect in photos.

Post-park recovery was also key! This next tip was truly my secret weapon to being amped and ready for day two. And that is… IcyHot! Slather some of that on the soles of your feet and they’ll forgive you for chasing FastPasses all day. Under-eye masks were my other saving grace to hydrate my visible tiredness. Both items fit perfectly into my bag with no bulk, and kept me feeling human. The last item to wrap up the perfect day is a comfortable pajama set! Nothing feels better than finally getting into bed after a long and exciting day in the comfiest, coziest pjs and Target is my go-to!

This trip proved that for Disney, it’s best to pack smart, not heavy. My backpack had everything I needed for the airport and my suitcase was a curated mix of style and survival.
