The Memphis Diaries

Hello hello! June is now upon us and that means outside time is in full swing for the boys. This month’s cat corner stars Dennis and Yuki (obviously) and what they’ve been up to the past couple of weeks. I’m currently writing this while enjoying some outside time of my own and supervising the fluffy chaos agents! These two have been living their best outdoor lives this May, turning our backyard into their own personal jungle. Grab a cozy seat (watch out for paws!), and let’s catch up on their antics complete with pictures of their cutie faces. Just for you!

First, say hello to two new additions to my plant collection! I got a couple ferns and I have been loving how lush they are and the coastal forest vibe they’re giving. Dennis and Yuki’s thoughts? They’re obsessed! They’ve claimed them as their hideout, batting fronds and staging ambushes. I wouldn’t be surprised if the fern leaves are stripped by the end of summer. However, it’s hard to be mad when the boys are so cute and they enjoy it so much! I swear they think they’re invisible because they’ll jump out and scare me all the time. Truly adorable! To keep you all updated, they both had their birthdays in April. Dennis, the black cat, is 3 and Yuki, the white cat, is 2.

Next up: their neighborhood watch program. The boys have had their attention glued under the fence, spying on the neighbor’s cat like tiny detectives. My picture of them peeking underneath is peak sneakiness and I added pavers to ensure everyone stays where they’re supposed to be. I genuinely feel like a paparazzi to their lives. Every time they move or breathe, I’m probably taking a quick picture of them. They always love chasing each other all around and up the trees to burn off some extra energy and calories from all the treats! 😉 I’ll also find them rolling in the dirt or dust. Controlled chaos, right?

Outside time is their jam and I’m all about letting them explore safely. That means I’m usually outside supervising them and getting my sun time or doing an outdoor workout. I get to witness them doing the cutest things like chasing bugs, rolling on the concrete, and flopping in the sun. I love that it’s their playground and it reminds me to enjoy the little quirks of my cute boys. Even if they ate all the grass and immediately threw it up the second we got inside.

So, that’s what Dennis and Yuki have been up to lately. A few adventures, some sneaky activities, and a whole lot of fun. If you’ve read all the way through, I’d love to keep chatting.
