Hello everyone and happy Friday! I’m here with a little something to make your weekend feel fresh. Flowers! I wandered into Trader Joe’s this week and grabbed a haul of gorgeous, Spring flowers. This is a perfect form of self care and the cherry on top of a weekend reset. Let’s kick it off.

The Flower Lineup
So, here’s what I snagged:
- Tulips: Nothing truly says “Spring” like tulips. They’re sleek, bright, and make me smile.
- Ranunculus: These fluffy, layered beauties are to die for. Soft but bold with a wonderful floral fragrance!
- Spray Roses: Tiny, perfect roses that add a little charm without trying too hard.
- Eucalyptus Variation: Adds greenery plus a cool, refreshing scent.
- Baby’s Breath: Classic filler that makes everything look dreamy. Fun fact: these are actually my favorite flower!

This little flower run was a very easy way to treat myself! I’ve found Trader Joe’s to have very reasonably priced flowers. However, if you have a local flower shop or warehouse that is open to the public, they’re sure to have some gorgeous blooms as well. Grab a few stems that catch your eye, mess around with them, and soon you’ll have your very own masterpiece. It’s less about perfection and more about that fresh energy. Trust me, you’ll feel it!
How I Assemble My Arrangements
The first step to any good arrangement is a vase. If you don’t have a vase, no worries! You can use a mason jar or even a cup/mug you’re no longer using. Additionally, antique stores have plenty of gorgeous vases for discounted prices. The hunt for a great vase is so worth it!
Some things to keep in mind when choosing your vase:
- Circumference of the vase opening
- The smaller the vase mouth = the more compact the flowers will sit
- The wider the vase mouth = the more spread out the flowers will be
- Vase height
- You can achieve differing looks with vases of different heights.
- A shorter vase may be used for a table setting while a tall vase would fit nicely on a bedside table
Now don’t get too worked up about picking the perfect vase. Just grab whatever one calls to you, fill it with water, and let’s get to the fun part!

The flowers are the real star of the show here, and the next step to our wonderful creation.
Typically, I will start by adding my greenery to get a sense of structure and begin building the height. After that, I move on to the larger blooms. For my bouquet, this was the ranunculus.

After adding in the stunning ranunculus stems, I moved on to the tulips. I cannot get over how vibrant they are and how well they tie in all my other choices. Please note that I am removing a few of the leaves from each flower. This just ensures my arrangement stays looking clean and tidy. If natural is more your style, do that! The beauty of floral arrangements is how different each one is, even if the same flowers are used.

Now that our larger blooms are placed, we can move on to the smaller additions. I chose spray roses and baby’s breath! Simply trim up your stems and add them to any gaps or spaces in the arrangement.

The little details truly take an arrangement from great to excellent! Take some time to play around with how things look and tweak as needed. Baby’s breath is so light and dreamy. It’s my go to filler and a staple in my home decorating. Just look at how it transforms my arrangement!

Now that everything has been added, it’s time for the grand reveal!

Flower arrangements don’t have to take all day or break your budget. Trader Joe’s makes it easy with their affordable blooms. However, stems from your garden would make an arrangement just as breathtaking. Use your imagination and let your creativity run wild! Don’t let crazy color combinations hold you back either, you might just be surprised.
All in all, the flowers cost me about $28 and I ended up being able to make three bouquets for various areas of my home. I chose different vibes for each one and had a blast!
